Dr. Burcu GÜNERİ ÇANGARLI receives her PhD degree from Izmir University of Economics (IUE), in the field of organizational behavior. Since then, she has had several roles at IUE. Currently, she has been working as a full professor in the field of management and Dean of the Business Faculty. Burcu is fascinated to understand ways for designing and sustaining workplace environments where people can actualise their potential through making a positive impact on their own lives, stakeholders and community and the region. Therefore, her research areas are concentrated to leadership, ethics, culture and entrepreneurship. Moreover, she is exceedingly interested to share my knowledge with different parties; her undergraduate and graduate students, scholars, and practitioners.
Sevay Ipek Aydın is a PhD candidate at Ege Unversity Public relations and Publicity department of the Communication faculty. She is a director of Creative Economy Research and Application Centre in the Izmir University of Economics. She is lecturer in strategic management, applied entrepreneurship and innovation disciplines. Coming from up to 15 years sectoral experience in the finance, management consultancy and technology transfer profession practice, her research focuses on the crossroads of technology and social change, with an interest in transhumanism and posthuman technologies, human/machine communication, creative economy and entrepreneurship. She has TUBITAK a European Commission Competitive Sectors project development/ management experience.
Mehmet Gençer is a professor of Organization Studies at the Izmir University of Economics, Department of Business Administration. Coming from the software practice, his research focuses on the crossroads of technology and organizations, with an interest in open innovation, organizational change and knowledge flows. His research employs social network analysis and computational approaches to explore flows of knowledge and opinions in different organizational contexts. He has several research and consultancy collaborations with agencies such as Turkish Ministry of Industry and Turkish Exporter’s Association, as well as major industry firms in Turkey.
Taylan Demirkaya has been the director of Embryonix Accelerator and Incubation Center years between 2010 - 2016. During his time in the center he has succeeded to exit 8 startups for their early stage investments. . During his time in the center he has succeeded to exit 8 startups for their early stage investments. He is lecturing in Izmir University of Economics Business Administration department andteaching applied innovation and entrepreneurship course. He is also a professional startup mentor. His mentoring area is business modelling, idea validation and customer market development.
Seda Çakmak is an Entrepreneurship Specialist at Technlogy Transfer Office, organizes university education programs for entrepreneurs and supports them in their commercialization processes. She is an social entrepreneurship and business development mentor. Master's degree in Brand Communication at Izmir University of Economics and provides support to entrepreneurs in digital communication. Manages relations between institutions and entrepreneurs as the local representative of many organizations
Ela Burcu is a graduate of Hacettepe University. After studying business administration, she had the chance to practice work life for 12 years. Then, she earned a scholarship from Izmir University of Economics and completed her PhD in organizational behavior. She has been teaching management, strategy and HRM at Izmir University of Economics since 2011. She also is an experienced trainer: she actively takes part in adult training programs about managerial skills, mediation, negotiation and culture. She is actively learning and teaching these topics and taking part in related research.
Selen Kars-Ünlüoğlu is a Senior Lecturer in Organisation Studies at Bristol Business School. As a researcher, she is passionate about understanding the ways organizations develop and deploy their intangible resources, such as knowledge, capabilities, and networks to generate growth and achieve truly “organisational” learning and innovate. In researching these issues, she adopts an explicit focus on the processes, practices and micro-aspects of organisational work to understand the everyday experiences of innovation.
Arthur Turner is a Senior Lecturer at Bristol Business School and has an active role in the design and delivery of leadership development programmes and post-graduate vocational qualifications. His pedagogical approach encompasses a range of creative techniques, such as walking to reflect, art and poetry to reconsider, mediating objects to encourage deeper critical thought and music and silence as a means to develop more lasting development and learning opportunities. This approach to leadership learning and teaching are mirrored in his research as well which is informed by ideas of material engagement theory, soft fascination of nature, walking studies and the ideas of humans as a ‘play-species’.
Carol Jarvis is a Professor in Knowledge Exchange and Innovation at Bristol Business School and plays an active role in the design and facilitation of leadership development and executive education programmes. Her current research focusses on the application of complexity approaches (Complex Responsive Processes of Relating) to leadership, coaching, innovation and entrepreneurship, to explore everyday experience of change and innovation. Her research often involves working with collaborative enquiry, action research and creative methodologies, with an emphasis on storytelling and personal narrative enquiry. Carol’s work has a strong practitioner focus and she combines a practical, hands-on approach to making things happen with academic rigour.
Harriet Shortt is an Associate Professor in Organisation Studies at Bristol Business School. She has expertise in qualitative research methods including visual methodologies, specifically, participant-led photography. She has led research and consultancy projects with the Environment Agency Bristol, the NHS North Bristol Trust, ISG, Stride Treglown, Work Wise UK and a wide variety of Hair and Beauty Salons across the UK. Her teaching activities reflect her interest in innovative methodologies and include postgraduate and undergraduate modules in the areas of leadership studies, self-leadership, identity, creative interventions for change, and coaching and mentoring. Her pedagogical approach encompasses reflective practice and the use of visual methods.
Hugo Gaggiotti is an Associate Professor in Work and Employment at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He was Visiting Professor at The New School for Social Research, New York, EAE Business School, Barcelona and Hoschule University, Bremen. His research uses interdisciplinary organizational research methodologies, in particular ethnography, netnography and anthropological inspired techniques like shadowing and focusses on transcultural experiences of work and organising.
