About The Project

Creativity in Research, work by Jenny Leonard

Through providing knowledge transfer from UWE to IUE, we targeted to;

  • Develop the capacity of Turkish researchers for conducting practice-relevant, impactful research in the field of  entrepreneurship,
  • Develop the capacity of Turkish educators as enterprise educators adapting UWE educators’ pedagogical expertise for designing and delivering research-informed, practice-driven, team-led teaching and learning strategies,
  • Consolidate Turkish – UK research network on multidisciplinary entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education studies.

Our Goal

We built sustainable links between UWE and IUE researchers, research centre directors, and educators through a series of workshops and activities. Through knowledge and expertise transfer from UWE to IUE in the field of innovative entrepreneurship, we built IUE’s capacity to lead the regional entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Creativity in Research, work by Jenny Leonard

Events and activities have been planned between February 2020 to January 2021. However, due to pandemic, activities have been shifted and carried online.

September, 28- October, 2 2020/ Creativity in Research Workshops:

“Creativity in Research Workshop” focussed on creating awareness of the novel creative methods such as ethnography, visual methods, narrative research, art-based methods and the value created by implementation of these methods in the area of entrepreneurship research.

September 2020 - February 2021/ Participants’ field application of the research methods and perspectives discussed in “Creativity in Research Workshops”:

“Creativity in Research Workshop” led to creation of research groups allowing the participants to put their learning to work by applying the novel methods they were introduced to a real-life research project in teams. The research design and data collection have been completed and the project teams are now focussing on analysis and dissemination.

December 2020/ Enterprise Educators Training:

This event supported, informed and enabled academic staff to develop as enterprise educators. It supported staff to develop a research-informed approach to teaching and learning and design a more enterprising and innovative curricula. The focus was on introducing the participants to approaches to embed contemporary research and thinking on innovative entrepreneurship to course syllabi and to embed higher education research on novel pedagogies and educational tools that have been implemented in UK universities. Although, it was originally planned to take place in UK, due to COVID-19 measures, it was carried online with the close supervision of UWE Enterprise Educators.

February 2021/ Workshop on Pathways for Dissemination of Research:

This workshop has two main parts; the first part cultivated professional networks and mentorship to equip Turkish researchers with necessary knowledge and skills to publish entrepreneurship research in high-quality journals. Secondly, the workshop introduced channels for dissemination beyond academia such as organising and delivering research showcases, writing for industry outlets, and networking with practitioners and policy-makers to promote themselves and their research confidently while establishing relevance.
